Affects of anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of worry or nervousness generally linked to something that has an unknown outcome.  It can be associated with fear of the future or fear of a current situation.  The thing about anxiety is that it feels so different for every person.  It can be a lump in your throat, a knot in your stomach, nausea, numb fingers and toes, breathlessness or even complete panic.

Anxiety is the body’s natural response to a perceived threat and in itself is not always a bad thing as it is our body’s way of getting us to attune to something.  However, anybody that has anxiety knows that it can be absolutely debilitating and can feel like you are actually dying, but there is hope.

There are strategies that can be used to help you ease the symptoms or even prevent it completely!

You are not alone, did you know that in 2013 there were…

  • 8.2 million sufferers of anxiety
  • women are twice as likely to be affected by anxiety
  • 40% of disability worldwide is caused by anxiety

This doesn’t have to be the case, you can gain control of your own well being! We can work together to find ways to ground and assist you with the symptoms and then explore the root cause of your issue, getting it at the root.
